Accra, Dec 21, - The East
Dadekotopon Development Trust would deal with individuals and organisations
that encroach and improperly annex and acquire their lands, Nii Obour Fred
Afful, Chairman of the Trust has announced.
He called on all those interested
in their lands to be calm and supportive for them to put in place workable
arrangements that would ensure smooth management and use of the lands.
“Matters regarding encroachers,
illegal annexation and improper acquisition of trust lands would be dealt with
in due course.”
Nii Afful who was addressing a
news conference to explain some of the decisions the newly sworn-in trustees
had taken, called on the public to deal with only the trustees and crosscheck
for proper accreditation for persons from whom they would wish to purchase
lands.
Apart from him, he named other
Trustees as; Mr Samuel Sowah Oblejumah, Mr Jerry James Addoye, Mr Israel Gonti
Adjei and Mr Enoch Addo Sowah.
The rest, he said were; Mr Joseph
Odoi Mensah, Mr Andrew Nii Odoi Yemoh and Mr Robert Mensah Okpoti, explaining
that Mr Joseph Odoi Mensah was subsequently replaced with Mr Daniel Lartey at
the request of the Lenshi Quarter of the
Trust.
According to Mr Afful, they were
duly sworn into office on September 8, this year and are therefore the
legitimate members to deal with for the next two years.
He therefore warned the public
against dealing with people parading themselves as real owners of the land as
that could place them in uncomfortable situations in future.
The East Dadekotopon Development
Trust was established on April 10, 2002 as a result of the consent judgement
