Accra, Nov. 27, - Congress, the
highest decision making body of the Ghana League Club Association (GHALCA), has
given its support for the Association to go under reconstruction in a bid to
reclaim its lost glory.
This was a subject of serious
discussion at the Association’s Congress held last week at the Head Office in
Accra, where members demanded for a more vibrant GHALCA.
In an interview with the GNA
Sports after the meeting, Mr. Kudjoe Fianoo, Chairman of the Association
disclosed that all members including himself, were worried for the current
state of the Association.
He said Congress had agreed for a
Committee to be setup to look at how best they can reconstruct GHALCA to take a
relevant position in the development of Ghana Football.
“As an association, we have also
realized that we are losing our strength and shine. So in the next couple of
days or weeks, we are going to set up a Committee to take another look at
GHALCA in its current form and see how best we can reposition it.
“This is because GHALCA used to
be a force to reckon with. I would be the first to admit that we have lost our
shine and bite. So we have realized that there is a need for us to reposition
the Association so that we can offer our assistance or give a push to the
development and promotion of football in Ghana,” Mr. Fianoo explained.
