Accept to regularly donate blood – Ms. Quayeson

Koforidua (E/R), Feb 17, – An appeal has gone to Ghanaians aged between 17 and 50, to accept to regularly donate blood to save lives.

Ms. Philomena Quayeson, the Eastern Regional Blood Donor Organizer, said that was important to ensure that the facilities had enough stock to respond to emergencies. 

People should not wait for the hospitals to run out of blood – crisis situation to arise, before they responded. She was speaking during the sixth MTN Ghana Foundation blood donation campaign held in Koforidua.

The “Save a life campaign” is targeting to get people donate 2,017 pints of blood in support of the national transfusion services. 

This forms part of the activities lined up to mark the 10th anniversary celebration of the Foundation. 

Ms. Quayeson praised students in the various schools across the region and the Foundation for the vital support they had been giving to the blood banks and invited the church to do same.
