The Stars, will be hoping to end the trophy drought of 35 years in this year’s AFCON tournament as they are paired in Group D with Uganda, Egypt and Mali.
In a release from MOYS and signed by the public relations officer, Elvis Adjei-Baah said the ministry beliefs the stars will go all out to make the nation and the President proud.
“It is the sincere belief of the ministry that as a soccer giant on the continent and having established itself as a strong force to reckon with in the game, the Black Stars will live up to the expectations of H.E the President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and all Ghanaians by breaking the 35 year wait to bring the cup home”.
According to the release, the feat would not only cement the star’s pedigree in African football but most significantly “recapture the solid support of football loving Ghanaians in and outside the country”.
