Mr Stephen Anokye, Central Regional Manager of the Road Safety Commission who confirmed the incident to the Ghana News Agency (GNA), said the accident occurred around 19:10 hours.
He said the Toyota Hiace (Stanbic type) with registration number (GR 5164-16) was travelling from Accra towards Mankessim with 15 passengers on board.
On reaching a section of the road about 20 metres to Gomoa Akotsi junction, the driver attempted to overtake five cars which were ahead of him in a row and in the process met a sprinter bus with registration number (GE 5061-11) with 24 passengers coming from the opposite direction.
