Accra Dec. 20, - An Accra
Circuit Court has remanded into custody Justice Meyers, unemployed for stabbing
a cold store attendant five times after he had held him to produce a stolen
phone.
Meyers charged with robbery
pleaded not guilty.
He is to reappear on January 2.
The court presided over by Mrs
Abena Oppong Adjin Doku was informed by the Prosecution led by Superintendent
Patience Mario that the complainant was Kofi Boateng.
According to prosecution the
complainant reside at La but works at Agbogboloshie market in Accra. Meyers
also resides at Old Fadama, Accra.
Prosecution said on December 17,
this year, at about 0500 hours the complainant visited the market to offload
cartons of fish from a cold store in the market.
Due to poor visibility, the
complainant put on his infinix note two mobile phone light to assist his
vision.
Prosecution said Meyers who was
wearing a ladies dress and had partly covered his face with mask took the
mobile phone valued GH₵550.00 cedis.
”A witness raised an alarm and
the complainant held Meyers to enable him retrieve his phone. The accused, who
was armed with a knife, stabbed the complainant five times in shoulder and
behind his neck.”
Prosecution said the complainant
raised an alarm and with the help of two security guards at the market, Meyers
was nabbed.
