Ho, Nov. 27, - Four soldiers,
including a Lieutenant from the 66 Artillery Regiment have allegedly assaulted
two auto electricians in Ho for refusing to sell car spare parts to them.
Bright Korkoryi and Sedem Agbesi,
both apprentices at Morkporkpor Enterprise were allegedly picked by the
soldiers at about 1600 hours taken to the barracks and drilled them for four
hours.
The victims claimed the
Lieutenant requested a replacement of his “airflow metre” but was told to go
and bring the old one to be sure of the type.
They said the Lieutenant went and
only came back with three soldiers who picked them up for refusing to sell the
item to him.
The victims who were issued
medical forms by the Police in Ho on Monday morning, after making a report on
their ordeal, told the Ghana News Agency that they were lashed with belts, made
to roll on the floor and walked on their hands with legs up for hours.
They presented a picture to the
GNA showing lacerations on the skin caused by lashes at their back.
Major Edward Sarpong Appiah, the
Second-in-Command at the Artillery said he could not comment on the matter, but
the Police said they were investigating the matter.
