Atebubu (B/A), Nov. 27, – Mr
Mohammed Alhassan, the Acting Atebubu-Amantin District Director of the National
Youth Authority (NYA) has urged the teeming unemployed youth in the district to
register with the Authority to enhance their socio-economic livelihood.
He said considering the numerous
programmes modules introduced by the Authority, the 302 people in the district,
who had registered to benefit from the programme was not encouraging.
In an interview with the Ghana
News Agency (GNA) at Atebubu in the Brong-Ahafo Region, Mr Alhassan entreated
applicants, who found it difficult to go through the online registration
process to visit the district office of the NYA for assistance.
He explained that the government
had strengthened the programme as a means to create jobs for the youth and
reduce poverty as well.
Mr Alhassan said many youth were
needed to engage in the community protection personnel, graduate internship,
youth paid internship, among several other modules introduced by the NYA to
give them employable skills.
He told the youth that as the
programme rolled different modules, they had no justification to cry for jobs,
if they failed to take advantage of it.
