Accra, Nov. 27, - Bosch, the
leading global supplier of technology and services has marked another milestone
in Ghana with the opening of a new larger office in its bid to meet the growing
demand for its products.
Employing over 20 associates, the
company continues to increase its business in the country and also provide
significant value addition to the Ghanaian economy.
“We can now boast of almost 30
employees in Ghana and we have built a very strong distributor network across
the country extending to about 20 other countries in West and Central Africa,”
says Bosch Ghana Managing Director, Mr Emmanuel Agyei.
Bosch supports government’s
agenda for industrial transformation through the provision of tools and
services that will enhance the effectiveness of Ghanaian industries.
By maintaining our slogan
“invented for life,” we aim to transform the lives, both professionals and
local indigenes, through the provision of innovative and efficient products and
services to enhance and support the industrial drive in Ghana.
Bosch has been present in Africa
through an appointed network of dealers for more than 100 years. In support of
the growth and development of Africa, Bosch established offices in several new
locations on the continent in the recent past.
Two years ago, the company opened
its sales, marketing and services subsidiary in Accra, Ghana.
In the construction sector, it
has strengthened its alliance with Ghana’s construction industry through the
establishment of what it calls the solution box.
Bosch has enjoyed many successes
in the development of Ghana’s economy and the establishment of the power box at
the Sokaban Wood village where carpenters have access to Bosch power tools and
onsite training.
Officer in Charge of Power tools,
Mr Benjamin Ofori, said “our tools are used by professional and artisan users
such as carpenters, electricians and plumbers, who work in various construction
fields.”
According to Mr Ofori, what Bosch
seeks to do together with government is especially within the artisan’s space
to ensure that “we are providing our tools and making them easily accessible to
and providing training in line with government’s industrial transformation
agenda.”
The first of its kind in Ghana,
Bosch recently rolled out its innovation on one-acre land at Appolonia City.
The partnership is focused on Bosch supplying power tools and after sales
service to contractors at the 2,325-acre mixed-use urban development.
Additionally, now some 4,000
artisans are trained monthly, through the company’s partnership with the Accra
Technical Training Centre (ATTC).
The Centre specializes in the
provision of vocational and technical training and churns out artisans and
craftsmen.
The company has operations in all
of its four business sectors in the country: Mobility Solutions, Industrial
Technology, Consumer Goods and Energy and Building Technology.
