Madina, Nov 22, – Thirty-one (31) drivers arrested by the
police for various traffic offences have been sentenced to fines totalling GH₵9,924.00 by the Madina Magistrate
Court, presided over by the Madam Maame Efua Terdimah.
They were arrested in a special
exercise, led by Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP) Charles Inuba Comanban,
the Madina Divisional Commander.
They faced charges including
parking at unauthorized places, road obstruction, causing danger to road users
and blocking major roads to pick passengers.
All of them were convicted and
punished after they pleaded guilty to the road traffic offences.
ACP Comanban vowed that the
exercise would continue, to get the drivers to do the right things.
He said they were determined to
go the extra mile to ensure that road traffic regulations were respected.
