Ho, Dec. 19,-The Ho Court complex
is to start holding open day sessions to take it services to the doorsteps of
the public.
Justice Charles Nicholas Agbevor,
the Supervising High Court Judge who gave the hint said a complaint office was
also being established for timely feedback from the public.
He said this when he sworn into
office, elected regional executives of the Ghana Journalists Association in the
Volta Region in Ho.
Justice Agbevor said during the
open day, the public would be taken through basic understanding of crime and defences.
He said the Service would also
visit churches, mosques and other public gathering for discussions on the law
court system.
Justice Agbevor chastised the
media for "poor court reporting" and urged it to acquaint itself with
court processes and terminologies.
Mr Anthony Bells Kafui Kanyi,
Volta Regional Chairman, GJA, called for collaboration between the Association
and the Judicial Service for regular training for journalists on court
reporting.
Mr Kanyi, Chairman, Mr Alberto
Mario Noretti, Secretary and Mr Kafui Gati, Treasurer, took the oath of office
and secrecy and were sworn into office.
