Accra, Nov. 23, - Black Starlets
captain Eric Ayiah, has said, he is always inspired by criticisms against him,
because it helps him to improve upon his performance on the field.
Ayiah, who came under intense
criticisms during the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA)
Under-17 World Cup in India recently, told the GNA Sports that, “I am not
perturbed nor discouraged, when I hear people criticize me.
“Criticisms help me to grow as an
individual and a footballer and so I am highly motivated by that.” He said.
According to the young striker
“he is in a learning process and as such must grow a thick skin for criticisms.
“As a young player with
ambitions, I take criticisms in good faith and try to build on what is being
talked about.
“It helps me to focus on what is
ahead. I hope to achieve my set goals in the near future.” He added.
The Black Starlets captain led a
select side “Ayiah 11” to defeat Division Two side Charity FC 4-2, with goals
Ayiah, Emmanuel Toku, Andrew Laryea and Najeeb Yakubu, whilst Frank Abbeyson
and Bernard Bissah scored for Charity Stars FC.
