Accra, Nov 28, – The 2017 Ghana
Energy Awards Committee says all is set to honour energy sector players for
their immense contributions to the field on November 30 at the Labadi Beach
Hotel.
The Awards Scheme is an industry
owned initiative being executed in partnership with various government
regulating agencies in the sector.
It was initiated by Energy Media
Group and is on the theme: "Energy for National Development: 60years and
beyond."
Several individuals and corporate
organisations have been shortlisted for the maiden national awards instituted
to recognize innovations, achievements and excellence in the oil and gas sector
of Ghana’s economy.
The Awarding Panel Chaired by
renowned Energy Expert Dr Kwame Ampofo told the Ghana News Agency on Tuesday
that everything was set to announce grand winners on Thursday for the 20
categories listed.
The first ever national award in
Ghana’s growing energy sector is backed by the World Energy Council, Ministry
of Energy and its agencies.
It was launched early this year
and aimed to reward industry players for their achievements, success, efforts,
innovation and excellence towards the growth of the country’s energy sector.
It is also to celebrate the
tremendous work of industry players competing in various categories.
The shortlisted nominees have
been informed about their chance of winning the awards in the various
categories but the committee said final recipients would be declared at the
gala ceremony.
