Accra, Feb. 20, – President John Dramani Mahama will address Parliament on Friday, February 27, 2026, to deliver the constitutionally mandated State of the Nation Address (SONA) in accordance with Article 67 of the 1992 Constitution.
Mr Mahama Ayariga, Majority Leader and Leader of Government Business, announced the date during Friday's parliamentary sitting while presenting the Business Statement. Members are expected to be seated by 9:15 a.m. for the President's formal welcome at 10:00 a.m.
The SONA provides the President opportunity to outline government policy direction, review national progress, and highlight key challenges facing the country.
Rt. Hon. Alban Kingsford Sumana Bagbin, Speaker of Parliament, will preside over the session attended by Members of Parliament, government officials, the diplomatic corps, and invited dignitaries.
The annual address remains one of Ghana's most significant political events, setting national discourse agenda and guiding legislative priorities for the year.
